Business Licensing

NIB and business licenses in OSS, matched to your business's risk level

Business licenses are now determined by your KBLI (business classification) codes and their risk level in the OSS system. We make sure your data is right from the start so the licenses issued match what you actually do.

Service options

Low risk

An NIB is enough to start operating.

Medium risk

An NIB plus a Standard Certificate (Sertifikat Standar) whose requirements must be met.

High risk

An NIB plus a license that the relevant authority must approve before the business can operate.

What we handle

  • Mapping your KBLI codes and risk level
  • Creating your OSS account and entering your data
  • Issuance of your NIB (business identification number)
  • Obtaining the Standard Certificate or follow-up licenses according to risk
  • Adding or changing KBLI codes for businesses that already have an NIB

What you need to prepare

  • KTP (ID card) and NPWP (tax ID) of the owner or management
  • Deed of establishment and approval decree, for business entities
  • Company NPWP
  • Business location address
  • A description of your business activities and number of employees
  • Environmental documents such as SPPL or UKL-UPL, if required

How the process works

  1. KBLI mapping

We match your business activities to KBLI codes and check their risk level.

  2. OSS registration

Your account is created and your business data is entered, including location and workforce.

  3. NIB issued

For low-risk businesses, the NIB is enough to start operating.

  4. Follow-up licenses

For medium and high risk, we help you fulfil the Standard Certificate or obtain licenses from the relevant authorities.

Questions about Business Licensing

Is an NIB enough for every business?

No. An NIB is enough for low-risk businesses. Medium and high-risk businesses need additional licenses.

I already have an NIB but the KBLI is wrong. Can it be changed?

Yes. KBLI codes can be added or updated in OSS. We help you align them with what your business does now.

Do sole proprietors also need an NIB?

Yes. Individual micro and small businesses also register for an NIB in OSS.
