Halal Certification

Halal certification for products consumers trust

Food, beverages, cosmetics, and certain consumer goods must be halal certified. We help you prepare the documents and support your application to BPJPH (the Halal Product Assurance Agency).

Service options

Regular route

Through an audit by a Halal Inspection Agency, for medium and large businesses or products with higher-risk ingredients.

Self-declare route

A self-declaration for micro and small businesses whose ingredients are clearly halal, with guidance from a halal product process facilitator.

What we handle

  • Checking which certification route fits you
  • Reviewing ingredients and suppliers' halal certificates
  • Preparing the Halal Product Assurance System documents
  • Submitting the application to BPJPH
  • Support during the audit or verification

What you need to prepare

  • NIB and deed of establishment
  • List of products and all ingredients used
  • Suppliers' halal certificates for ingredients, if available
  • Production flow from receiving ingredients to packaging
  • An internal halal supervisor
  • Company halal policy and procedures

How the process works

  1. Choose the route

We check whether your business can use self-declare or needs the regular route.

  2. Check ingredients

All ingredients and their suppliers are checked for halal status.

  3. Prepare documents

The Halal Product Assurance System documents and production flow are prepared.

  4. Application and audit

The application is submitted to BPJPH, then reviewed by an inspection agency or facilitator.

  5. Certificate issued

After the halal ruling, the halal certificate is issued and you may use the halal logo.

Questions about Halal Certification

Who issues the halal certificate?

BPJPH, under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The halal ruling on a product is made through a fatwa from MUI (the Indonesian Ulema Council) or the Fatwa Committee.

Can MSMEs get it for free?

The government offers a quota of free halal certification through the self-declare route for eligible micro and small businesses. We help you check your eligibility.

Does each product need a separate certificate?

One application can cover several similar products, as long as all their ingredients and production processes are registered.
